Paul, back to your old form so soon? The point was, and I repeat it here for you once more:

He was only using the FSB to overclock!

So the 840 limitation wasn't the Tbird, but almost certainly the motherboard, etc.

Had he unlocked his CPU multiplier, we would know what the limitation of the Tbird itself was. Recent vr-zone posts indicated week X (recent) Tbirds marked 750 on the cartridge contained cores labeled 950. This followed an earlier item featuring a 700/900 spread.

I know it irks you that AMD's process yields so much better at high speed grades than Intel's, but you'll simply have to deal with it as best you can.
