Malcolm Bersohn: I am always amused at how any negative comment regarding a stock is always greeted with a statement that "you must be short the stock". Just for the record, I am not. Unfortunately, I am quite long with QCOM, having bought it in Fall 1998. My deepest regret is that I wasn't smart enough to sell it earlier this year.

Every investor makes mistakes and hanging onto QCOM has been my biggest one this year. However, the only thing worse than making a mistake is prolonging it. I firmly believe it is dead money for the foreseeable future and will sell off chunks of my QCOM holdings later in the year as better investment opportunities present themselves.

One more thing -- I am aware that QCOM receives royalties from all flavors of CDMA. However, royalties from W-CDMA will not be QCOM's road to riches.
