Well, there is something to the idea that gains beget further gains. I've kind of made my investment living on that concept: "the trend is your friend" as the futures traders would say.

Which brings up the reason I decided to write here this week. My weekly screening and mathematical analysis of 1500 stocks tracked by the S&P has given EMC a "Very Bullish" rating, my highest rating!

EMC has risen on increasing volume in a market where volume has declined. This is a spectacularly bullish sign, in my view. Not only that, but EMC is actually rated as having a lower risk than most stocks, according to my analysis. Why? Because its volatility is fairly moderate, and it has proven to have good "Resilience" or "come-back-ability" after declines.

I also know something about the company, having interviewed there and knowing someone who works there. But, that's subjective, rather than objective, evidence. On purely numerical, mathematical terms, EMC looks like a really super stock in which to put your money right now.
