Re: "These will have 256K integrated L2 cache"

Paul, while I don't know if this is true or not, keep in mind that there is reason to believe that for Willamette, the terms "L1" and "L2" don't necessarily mean what they used to. If P4 has the new "trace cache" that has been rumored, then that is what they are calling L1 and therefore L2 @256K is what used to be called L1. Confusing? I'll say.

Dear Paul and all: I was at Costco yesterday and noted they have a CPQ 1 Gigahertz computer, with 60gb HD and even a CD/RW drive for $2,499. Unfortunately it was, of course, the Athalon, I thought it an incredible price though!! I am wondering if the Williamette with RDRAM is going to be able to compete with prices like that? JDN

Paul,

Last I checked, September was in Q3 - NOT Q4 !

I believe the Register must have at least one error per articlel; without consistency, what would the Register be?
