Pat, neither do I, but the plan in my mind is simply to look at the likely scenarios of the stock movement and see if they match the real world outcome. I set up a moving average crossover, as a sort of stop on the way down, to trigger to me a point of exit. Since I have held JDSU since last year, Aug. and added substantially to my shares with some call positions which split a few times, and let me excercise at prices that are really a sin, I can afford to take a long look. I hold a core position in JDSU and SDLI, as I did with OCLI and ETEK, which I purchased luckily before the announced mergers. I believe the next three days with JDSU will produce perhaps the best upside movement, with the actual addition the the S&P Wednesday and earnings released the same day after the bell. Sell could move in after the announcement, or slightly before the close. How much is the question, as the thought of a split might hold the selling back, Thursday could be an interesting day. Either way, my mountain climbing gear and ice shoes await Mondays assault on higher ground.....please do keep smiling, this is the fun part of investing. Good trading.
