Jim,
Re Bob Brinker: He has quite a long-term track record but is primarily a no-load mutual fund guy. The bulk of his newsletter subscribers are mainly the buy and hold types and Brinker is addressing that market. I'd filter his newsletter and radio comments carefully as they are not addressing the active tech investor, the trader or the options market. Brinker is very conservative and is good for the newer investor types or those that can't or won't spend much time doing their own due diligence. For example Brinker believes that 4% maximum is the limit for an individual stock holding and he would rail over the GG methods. Brinkers ONLY individual stock recommendations and none are a purchase now are MSFT, VOD, SPY, DIA, QQQ, UTEK & GAB. Nothing very interesting there and 4 of the 7 are not individual stocks (but tracking indexes or trusts) If one needs someone to hold their hand and is trustworthy Brinker is likely very good. If one works hard at investing and is looking for big hits Brinker is not your guru!

All IMO.
