On the other hand, high bandwidth memory is very useful for graphics and network applications. This is because they are strictly bandwidth limited, and latency is not an issue.

I don't know about network applications, but it's funny about graphics: before the botched launch of drdram for PC main memory, I used to do occasional searches on pricewatch for rambus prices, usually all that'd show up was a few graphics cards. Seems that Rambus was tried for graphics, but found wanting there too, or maybe, like with PCs, it just wasn't economically justifiable, or too complicated to be worth the trouble.

Go do a search on ddr now, you'll find a ton of DDR graphics cards, all the hot new 3d cards seem to have it.

Cheers, Dan.
