Brian, Good post. I hope this all ends here. I feel bad about this because I suggested to Amat threaders to comment on Justa's semi predictions. Amat threader dont worship at their throne and Brinker threaders are very thin-skinned. I admire the work you to do for Amnesty International. PM me. I would like to learn more about the project, but let's keep it private.

Brian, if you had seen some of the threads I have seen, where pro- and anti-Brinker posters go around in circles ad nauseum, then you would know what I mean by a battleground. But have it your own way. I will reply to the substance of your message.

We have something called freedom of association in this country. There are certain people on the web who look for every opportunity they can find to tear Brinker down, and some of them feel no qualms at distorting the facts, and the record, to do so. Attempts to engage them in reasoned discourse just result in endless repetition of the same tired old arguments. That, IMO, is why Justa and others have chosen to exercise their freedom of association by no longer associating with such people. From what I have seen, Justa tolerates dissent by those who are able to remain civil and have respect for the facts, as you can see from the fact that Mr. GreanJeans is apparently still allowed to post there. But if anyone doesn't like the way the moderator is running things, they are free to vote with their feet, by going to another thread, or starting their own.

I applaud your support of political prisoners, but I don't see what that has to do with the subject at hand. Your First Amendment rights protect you from GOVERNMENT restrictions on free speech, not from non-governmental entities like SI. Consequently, we are subject to the SI terms of use, which include a provision against off-topic posts, and which further allow for the creation of both moderated and unmoderated threads.

If you want to keep going around and around on this subject, I will be happy to accommodate you. But I still think that we should be courteous to those who are interested in discussing AMAT, by going to the appropriate thread if you want to discuss this further.
