Ed, I am not claiming to be Nostradmus. I am merely making an educated guess based on my 20 years of experience in the Telecom & Internet field.

Of course I could be wrong and Chambers could re-invent CSCO successfully to be the new Gorilla in the Carrier space. Odds are low however -- that is my ONLY point and the fact is that the market currently does NOT factor that risk into CSCO premium.

I have said this countless times. I will say it again. CSCO is a Gorilla in the enterprise sector. CSCO is more like a Chimpanzee in the Carrier/public networking sector (where the big growth & future of networking resides). In the Carrier space, CSCO will be facing near-Gorillas like NT, ALA, LU, ERICY, NOKIA, FUJITSU, SIEMENS, .....I could go on & on but i won't...!!

CSCO needs to hope that the Enterprise sector can maintain it's growth -- unfortunately they already own the enterprise sector and the trend is away from enterprise owned/managed data network to publicly managed Carrier networks.

(I feel like a broken record for saying this over & over again --- so I will truly stop these obvious points that CSCO followers don't seem to get or are unwilling to face -- otherwise Gary will be back insulting me again!!)
