To:ALL,

What's up with Emachines? No emachines advertisements in this week computer advertisements flyer! None! It seems Intel cut-off the Celeron supply to them.

Also, K6-x desktops completely disappeared. I'm hoping for Duron SKUs from at least a couple of major oems next week.

The high end computer advertisements are now all nothing but Athlons - 800 - 1GHz.

Re:"So the tune is slowly being changed to how much damage AMD causing to Intel from how much pain Intel used to cause to AMD! What's next? "

I have no clue what you are talking about.

Do you?

Goutama, the harm to Intel is more easily quantified than you think.
Just take the accelerated death of the P-II, the existence of the Celeron and remove them as well as AMD from the world stage. that would leave the P-II with an extra 2 years of life and at a far higher ASP. All the problems with the 820 chipset would vanish as it would not be rushed into prime time before it was ready, same with Rambus stuff.
In additoon intel would have all the market and not 70% and intel would not need to dump venture shares to shore up earnings. These one time events are just a temporary things, What will Intel do next?

Intel has lost 75% of it's profits from CPU manufacturing compared to a world with no AMD.

So for fools to deny that intel was hurt is stone stupid.
