Steve,(ON Topic)if you haven't seen them, there are articles on the Corvis IPO which happens today and on ONI and the acquisition of metro players in the Monday edition(out on Sat.) of Investor's Bus. Daily. Good reference points for value of MRVC.

O.T. U. Va is high on our list of schools which we would like to recruit Grant. I have tried to "sell" him to Stanford, Harvard, Princeton,Penn,Ga.Tech, Vanderbilt, U.Va, W&M, Rice,Northwestern and two other schools which I can't think of right now. So far, U.Va has not contacted us. There are a number of schools which want him but are not of an academic caliber to interest us.

I did get a chance to button hole Tom Konchalski and ask him if Stanford was a possibility and he said no. Didn't give me a reason other than to say they had committed to a kid from Fresno. He is constantly on the move so I didn't press him with lots of questions. I later ascertained that the kid from Fresno is a point guard, not a 2 guard, so I don't know what to think of his remark. I don't know if he thinks Grant is too small, not quick enough, just not good enough or if Stanford isn't recruiting a shooting guard. I'll try to clarify with the coach who wrote me when I get home. What Tom writes in his scouting report will obviously have a big effect on who else really goes after him.

Meanwhile, he is still looking very good. Last night his team advanced to the final 4 beating the team with the camp superstar, Melvin Scott, who is supposed to be one of the top 20 players in the country. Grant fell hard on the asphalt (they play on outside courts) after fighting for a rebound in the last minute of play and was in obvious pain with a bruised tail bone but managed to knock down 5 of 6 free throws as their opponents fouled to stop the clock in the waning seconds of the game.

Best regards from a tired but proud dad.
Bob
