JBC,

Sorry, should have been clearer about the marking. It was little dash right below the swoosh. Looked like it was made by a machine.

Could have just been dirt.

TH blows a great round on the 8th hole tonight. Ever just slip back into stupid golf? I just did. Made an 8 on a 5 that I am usually chipping for eagle on. First 8 in like 3 weeks. Just pissed at myself. It was like I got dumber with each stroke.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Still shot a 43, but I would not have cared if it was a 48 and I had played smart and just gotten some bad breaks.

Have a good one.

TH

Mark, Mag, TH and J.B.C.,

re: Tiger is not the greatest champion yet, that still belongs to Nicklaus, but he may be the greatest golfer ever.

I'll settle for that. It could be that part of what makes Tiger appear so good is the level of his competition. When Jack was playing, it seemed to me, at the time, that the other guys had a chance. Nicklaus could be playing great but Tom Watson could get hot and win. If Tiger has his game, the tournaments seems more like a competition for second place. Which leads to clubhouse argument number two (from yesterday, while watching Tigers coast in on 17 & 18):

Is Tiger "good for the game"? The "no" argument was that because he is so dominant, if he gets a lead, it makes watching golf boring. And if he's not in the tournament, it doesn't seem like it's worth watching at all. He has relgated all tournaments he doesn't play in to a lower class event.
The "yes" argument is that as a superstar he makes more non-golfers aware of the game, they watch it, and they may take it up. And certainly more kids (especially minority kids) will play because of Tiger.
