Brian, the problem which led to Justa's creation of a moderated thread was not just people challenging or criticizing him or Brinker. When you see the same tired old arguments presented again and again and again and again by the same people, it just gets old. Sure people can express themselves on the Net, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But some of these people are extremely careless with the facts, and they have been so relentless about it that they have ended up dominating the conversation on the Brinker threads. I would hope that you have known me long enough to know that I am not someone who is careless with the facts. But if you don't believe me, you can look at some of the old history on the thread I linked to. If you really want to see how bad it can get, check out the Brinker thread on suite101.com. People who respect Brinker's work, and who want to discuss the markets in light of his advice, ought to have a place they can go without being hounded. Justa's thread is one such place. If you disagree with that, fine, don't post there. If you object to the existence of moderated threads, you are free to make SI management aware of your objections. As for posting your complaints here on the AMAT thread, the issue is not free speech, it is courtesy. I recognize that my answering your complaints here is just as bad as your posting them, but if you continue to use this forum as a place to attack people I respect, you force my hand.

There are many people who hate INTC and love AMD; I own Intel. But I would never even consider making a moderated Intel
only thread. Intel is one of the best companies in the world; it needs no protection from those who criticize it.

The moderated AMD thread was created to stop personal attacks and off topic messages not to keep away people who were bearish on AMD. I read both the moderated and the unmoderated threads.
