I am not sure how much people charge to make a set of clubs, I never charged any of my friends. If they are put together by someone who knows what they are doing, they aren't going to come a part! A city the size of St. Louis is bound to have someone listed in the Yellow pages that make custom golf clubs. I would recommend talking to them before you buy a set. You maybe surprised how inexpensive they could make a good set of clubs for a beginner that is sized just for you. The right length, grip size, and weight can make a big difference. Why don't you ask the cow to see if he agrees.
