Frank, I have being with
Newbridge now ALA form loooooong time.
So I was following it very closely and was able to collect lots of info form any possible sources.....
In may cases you can just add what is known officialy:
For example
a) Pronto: is knows that ALA got 4.5 billion which goes for access and NN before merger for huge stake in core/edge ATM.
With ALA /NN now one company there is little chance for other
players to get to Pac Bell or SW Bell.
CSCO has some marketing-sales deal with SBC for Ameritech
only, but ....... CSCO always promise a lot and deliver little(Sprint ION)

b)

Telus/Blockbuster
Alcatel dominates Telus
with IP/ATM and access gears.
ALA/NN has its working VDSL(so call 3dSL) in combination with
i-Magic and PixStream (ALA has 40-50% stake and former NN's CEO the majority of the rest)
As you know ( may post yesterday) they all works with SUN Micro. and are now instating real networks for Kindstom Comm.
in UK and Irish Telecom.
SBC Commm wants to deliver Video and TV in Pronto too.....

So, lots of conclusions can be made without even going to deep.... in the subject

ALA has also big deals for xDSL with Bell Atlantic and Bell South not to mentione big boys
in Europe.
NN gave them VDSL and core LMDS over ATM.
