Tiger. His dominance hasn't been seen since the early years of Nicklaus.

tekgirl is right

Please pardon the intrusion on a thread where I haven't been invited or read the rules, but this is something I feel strongly about.

A former mentor said to me that it's not a sport if you can do it while smoking or drinking. (OK, maybe there's one exception here.) But yachting is in the Olympics, for goodness' sakes!

Who's more impressive? From a purely physical, grind it out, guts kind of standpoint, well, Lance is. From a standpoint of technique, skill, grace, power and all-around magnetism, Tiger is.

And Lance is awfully tounge-tied. I've suggested in the past (not that I've known where to send my suggestions) that he simply copy some of the baseball phrases to cycling, e.g., "Cycling has been very, very good to me." Or "I'm just glad to be here." (In his case, really true I'm sure.)

Uh, what was the question again?

tekboy is right

Waaay too serious a response follows.

OK, I was tired last night, and I only follow one of these two sports. The question wasn't which sport is more athletic or tougher, but which of these two competitors is more impressive.

I only follow one of these sports. The greatest cyclist of all time was Eddy Merckx, and Lance would agree he's not yet equal to Merckx. But from the commentary, Tiger Woods seems to be dominating golf like Eddy Merckx dominated cycling.

Measured this way, Tiger Woods is more impressive. But since I only know cycling, I follow Lance and I'm personally impressed by his accomplishments.

So I feel very strongly both ways, which should entitle me to run for some kind of office or something.

In the end uf is right and this was a great day for American sport.
