Gottfried, thanks for the data and the link. Looks like the current slowdown in bookings growth could be normal seasonal weakness. It's odd though, that the BtB went up for five months following September, 1995, at the same time that the sector was selling off. I don't remember too clearly the details of the selloff, except that I clearly remember the CEO of Tencor standing up in front of a company meeting and telling us, "There's going to be a slowdown." (Still kicking myself for not acting on THAT tip!) The S&P was still going up during that period.
