When there is money to be lost, and considering the volatility of the market, it is easy to start a rumor, (price war coming) lower the price for witching wk, then counter rumor next wk. when their business is done. Why are we worrying about price manipulations by the MM? Harry I did not make my comment re AMD stock distribution based on anecdotal evidence or rumor. Starting some time in late May or early June, the stock was in fact under distribution according to Investor's Business Daily. On a daily basis IBD reports whether a stock is under accumulation or distribution. Any rating above C is accumulation; anything below C is distribution. AMD has rated a D since at least early June. For most of the year it has rated an A or B. As of last Friday that D rating continues; meaning that funds are still unloading. I suspect what they are doing is taking profits and lightening their load until they see what happens later in the year. The price will rebound shortly, Niceguy will start predicting again, Intel will delay their next miracle chip again, AMD will bring out 1.1 ghz,and Paul will keep on denigrating AMD while he keeps on overpaying for AMD stock, (he bought a bunch at 84.5 when the price is now 80.5. He's hardly the genius investor he claims to be. Kash called it better. IN other words life will go on. I don't care what Paul or Kash say; AMD will not go up significantly with only the retail customer buying......the funds are needed to make genuine price progress. Its why I have said over and over look at the volume...that is the telling indicator. ted
