RNWK--IIJ-MC to Launch Streaming-On-Demand Channel Service

TOKYO, Jul 24, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- IIJ Media Communications Inc. (IIJ-MC; headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Koichi Suzuki) announced that it will launch a new Internet streaming service named "Streaming-On-Demand Channel" as of August 1.

"With Japan's first simultaneous connection license frame, the new service will enable customers to transmit a diverse range of network applications such as audio, video, text and slideshows to the greater number of end-users, in the best available steady Internet streaming environment," said Koichi Suzuki, President and CEO of IIJ-MC.

IIJ-MC will deploy RealNetworks' video transmission system, RealSystem(TM)(*) on their new streaming service.

(*) RealSystem is a trademark of RealNetworks Inc.
