Now raise the money - we can invest in all these crazy IP - internet protocol/individual person - technologies which support this empowerment revolution that's sweeping the universe. I invest real money in real companies and challenge managment, developers and others to have the guts and vision to believe in these wacky/crazy things. The two I've been spending the most time with lately are Novell and I-Link. The most recent "little" company I helped into this wacky universe we just sold for between $16-18 million - closing date this past May. This was after an initial raise of $500K in the spring of '99. We had a 5% stake in that one. I've got 2-3 other gems I am working with, mentoring, coaching through these mightly waters of entrepreneurship. It's a kick and a gas. I've come to appreciate more and more that my biggest asset is my ability to get people to abandon their fears. Forget about what I say. It's what others do based on what others think that matters.
