Streaming Company

Deal Brings Added Reliability and Performance

To Microcast's Streaming Video Service

DENVER, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Qwest Communications International, Inc. (NYSE:Q), the
broadband Internet communications company, today announced that it was awarded a three-year, $12
million contract for advanced hosting services by Microcast Inc., the nation's highest capacity turnkey
provider of Internet video services to the media industry.

Microcast's video streaming solutions will be hosted in Qwest's U.S. CyberCenters(SM). Qwest also
will provide Microcast with gigabit Internet connections to all of its hosting equipment in each
CyberCenter to ensure digital-quality video of its customers programming.

By leveraging the Qwest backbone, Microcast will be better able to provide its customers a high-end
streaming video that allows video commercials to be inserted in real-time or on a targeted basis into
video that is being delivered over the Internet. The platform is the first of its kind. It combines
large-scale distribution capabilities with individual targeting logic distributed across the network for
both live and archived streams.

"The high capacity bandwidth made possible by Qwest's broadband Internet network ensures that
Microcast customers can provide superior streaming video quality over the Web," said Steve
Jacobsen, executive vice president of business markets for Qwest. "This agreement demonstrates our
unique ability to combine broadband access and complex hosting services with mission critical
applications at each of our CyberCenters."

"We are very pleased to be working with Qwest as we continue to roll-out our network," said Paul
Nash, Chairman and CEO of Microcast. "Qwest's quality IP solutions add to our ability to offer the
best streaming experience for consumers in the industry, while we build a reliable, robust network that
meets the needs of Internet broadcasters worldwide."
