There is a table in the back of Barron's which shows US reserve assets and gold is something like $11 billion ( which makes sense 261M @ 42.22 ) I seem to recall the other assets were in the hundreds of billion, so at book gold would not be much. Even if marked-to-market, I still don't think it would be the largest reserve asset. I could not find this report online at the FRBs, so I will go off to library today and get the exact numbers instead of guessing.
