I wonder why 80 is offering such resistance..

This reminds me of how difficult it was to break 100 (pre-split) the first time. Something psychological I guess?

renard, i'm sure some of this movement is due to the NT/GLW announcement....CIEN is up more than $8. still, we've had several of these buying spurts to the 79-81 level... then it just stops and waits for the price to drift back to the appropriate range.

as for the "market" knowing more than the individual.... maybe they're just listening a little closer. it's not like noam and company haven't provided all of the appropriate clues to the direction of the ipo's of the "developing companies". it certainly doesn't take much effort to listen to the previous conference calls or read the analyst research on the company-- both of which point to NUMEROUS ipo's being done this year.

of course, the market is still a tad skeptical, but after the initial ipo is complete, that skepticism will likely subside and we should see more emphasis on what the future ipo's might actually be worth. JOLT is potentially huge, and nobody seems to have any idea what the heck is going on there.... anyone actually notice the Israel Telecom website-- it's a future CLEC being developed by MRV (the website is owned by MRV). gee, what equipment do you think will be used for buildout? Nbase-Xyplex and Jolt, perhaps? certainly would be the most logical option.... that would give Jolt the distinguishable position of being the first wireless optical company to be used in a complete CLEC buildout....what's that worth???
