Tesla had secrets -- he took them with him to the grave. Edison shared his secrets with no one. He charged them as much as he could and sued those who tried to steal his ideas. Edison was in it for himself. He didn't worry about "the box" he invented new boxes.

Sometimes I think you are trapped in a dimensionless box of your own. You think you are outside it but you are not.
