Lindy,

ORCL has the best sales force, IMO.

Better than IBM's? Better than Siebel's? I have no idea, but the reputation I've heard for years is that most companies would die for a sales force the caliber of Siebel's.

Larry's love of battle is both a weakness and a strength in a world where cooperation is as important as competition. He may be more interested in the fight than the ultimate outcome. An "us against everybody else" attitude tends to leave a company outnumbered and resistant to new ideas from outside.

RE: ORCL vs. everybody else

Bill,

Thanks for your response. Agree about ORCL's aggressive sales force. However, Larry can only focus on so much. After the success of their RDBMS biz, they have not really dominated the applications space. I feel more confident of Siebel's ability to withstand the onslaught. Not sure about the other companies though.

I would hesitate to call an outcome on this one!

I concur.
