Jim, a sort of long standing indication that PC sales are slowing down, predating the news of the last few days by quite a bit, is that Microsoft has been showing pretty slow growth for the last few quarters.

Then there's the conundrum of why Microsoft gets hammered for padding out earnings with capital gains, while Intel gets to browbeat the analysts, but that's another story.

Cheers, Dan.

McJimbo - Re: "If it's just first silicon then it's more than a year out.
Have you heard any more insight about it? Anyone?"

Costco in the Bay Area is now selling Compaq Sledgehammer PCs - running wAMDows 64 - for $2799.

They are really sweet - beautiful, in fact - and are selling like hot cakes.
