Hi Paul, nice to meet ya:

You wrote:
"Looks like Canada has replaced San Diego as the Preferred site for AMD CPU launches. Poor Petz: He will now have to drive all the way to Canada to count the number of Duron PCs available at the SD shops !"

Actually.. he doesnt have to drive here: I'd be more then happy to send him the web sites for the places so he can order the parts online.. no need to waste all that gas.

I also might reiterate that I said "Durons and accompanied Motherboards".. not systems. OEM places and regular computer stores (referred to as "chop shops" by some on here) seem to be getting supplies of these for upgrades and such.. some may even be putting together custom built systems.. but I stress I havent seen any major name PC suppliers advertisers selling Duron systems (but then.. I wasnt looking for them.. I was in the market for a mere Duron and MB upgrade and did so)

Regards,
Scott

Paul,

I don't think the Duron availability is the problem:
pricewatch.com

If you don't mind buying a few (hundred thousand) of these I am sure AMD can accomodate you. You will have to wait a while for the motherboards though.
