Scumbria - do you feel that AMD should have been a little more silent on their plans for Sledgehammer? Or could they have been?

I thought that intel's main strategy for the last 2-3years is to break-up standards. The assumption was that largest producer (intel) would become the only viable solution from expense and compatibility stand-point. If Intel would take Sledgehammer approach would not that imply a joint standard and potential harm if not end of Merced
