I agree as a matter of principle and pride, it would be nice to GET THE DAMN THING OUT. (gg)

Yes, there's principle and pride, but do you want to be on that conference call the first time SUNW issues a warning and watch it drop 40% in 3 days? I sure don't. It may not happen for a year because they've gotten reprieves already and could get more. But it will happen eventually if they don't stay on top of it. I refer you to the relevant portion of the last earnings call. McNealy and Zander, as on several other issues, sang 2 slightly different tunes about the USIII. McNealy with more spin, Zander facing up more to the truth. "Who cares? People love us. We've got a backlog, look at the numbers" said McNealy. "We've always taken pride in best price-performance at Sun and we know we have to get this stuff out and we will" said Zander.

Taking McNealy's position is only good in a press conference or other sales pitch, and is highly dangerous anywhere else.

But I may think differently on a day when we go up<g>.
