Dear tombet: Well, for starters it takes the "wholesale" value and converts it to "retail" value. Secondly it provides the funds to complete the buildout and we as shareholders in TYC end up owning a piece of a complete paid for system instead of a nonproducing skeleton. JDN

tombet,

If you hold TYC shares then you will benefit because Tyco is about to receive a great deal of additional financing to build out its undersea fiber-optic network. However, it does not seem that Tyco has any plans to distribute any shares of Tycom to existing TYC shareholders.
