Sorry but you kinda lost me in the wording of this one.

Markets move. Prices move. Even within the small fraction of time between previewing your order and then mere seconds later submitting it. This is normal and should be expected. (Imagine/Remember the movement that could occur if you were trying to do the transaction over the phone by voice and then some broker still had to manually enter the order, after verifying your account values, and that you were really you.) Online trading by any means sure beats that, right? Speedwise? Accuracy wise? Timing wise?

If your trading has to be exact, I surely hope that you are using limit orders to protect yourself against an unwanted 1/8 or more momentary blip in price.

Richard- BWAC is right in that markets move so fast, it's almost impossible to see exactly what the bid and ask currently sit at, especially when you have to wade through screens of information.

Just an observation, but I've found Datek's streamer to display quotes about 10 seconds behind E*Trades "Pulse" Level 2, which may explain the difference in prices (?). Stock quotes are not guaranteed, so make sure you put that limit order in...
