Uh, so do I, one of the most advanced semi facilities around is about 4 miles from my house. The main plant is 9 miles up Route 9. Kemble lives across the Hudson, closer to the Kingston facility, which used to employ something like 7-8 thousand people. It is now ENTIRELY shutdown, and a part of it is leased by an outfit that employees data entry operators for check processing, pretty pathetic....
If you want more history, IBM employed something like 30k people in the Hudson Valley in the early 1980's, it got down to something like 12k-15k in the mid 1990's....
