"Corning was way down the aisle with SDL before JDSU jumped in with an offer," said Paul Sagawa, telecommunications analyst at Sanford Bernstein & Co.

"I suspect Corning, after Plan A (to) buy SDL fell through, that they cast about for a Plan B."


Ah, yes, Sagawa, the LU zealot. Well, glad SDL's number one. Reminds me of that scene in Chariots of Fire where the coach, played by Ian Holme, tells Abrahamson its the groom that does the asking. I think SDL's in a similar position of strength.
