I think t2 was referring to the funds starting to buy JDSU which is helping to support its price, but not SDLI. At the same time, the arbs just don't have the muscle to keep up. Notice JDSU's volume on Monday was triple the average, while SDLI's was barely more than double.

If this situation proves to be true, once the funds' buying rush for JDSU is over there could be a major move by arbs to bring the discount back to the 12% range. It also means that on Wednesday the discount may balloon even further (25%?, 30%?, who knows).

So, JDSU may be the better stock to play for the S&P run. However, SDLI may hold up better if JDSU retreats afterwards.

These are just some random thoughts. Please don't hold me to them :)
