Second, thanks to all a couple of months or so ago with the tips on hitting the fade. I actually have developed a little one and have confirmed it works under playing pressure my last three rounds. I was really surprised tonight when I tried to fade one into the green to avoid water and ended up 10 yards right of the pin. On this hole from my lie in the fairway, I would generally regard it as an impossible shot for me. What really did it for me was a very slight open club face and a more gentle swing that lets my hands cross the ball the same time the blade does. Quite the opposite of my draw shot and pretty effective. It will be months before I can dial it in, but at least I can get near the green when blocked on the right. A start. Third, glad you dig the I3 too. I thought about the 12 degree, but because I am keeping the 975F 12.5 I thought it would be nice to have a shorter higher club. I am learning fast that it is much shorter. The fourth hole at my city course is usually the 975F and then a four fifths wedge, maybe with some headwind a 9 for the second shot. After just hitting the I3 perfect (at least I thought so) I was left with an 8. Its only a 1.5 degree difference but I bet its closer to 25 yards shorter. Still the ball flight and control are really exceptional. Because it appears to have such a flat sole I have been a little tentative closing it much, but for some reason it seems to skip over the turf quite well. Just looking at it on the shelf I would have guessed otherwise. Another winner for Ping, and about 5 times easier to hit than the 975F. Have a good one. Going to think about the 5 wood now. Will be hard to keep that trusty first generation Taylor Made 5 wood in the trunk. I actually think I have begun to beat the life out it. No paint left on the sides. Hit em well and soon everyone. TH
