JDSU has certainly gained strength, but, imo, it is still a King. Many want to create a new category, like Emperor, and put JDSU there. I don't think we need to do that. JDSU is a very strong King

1. Dominating market share for optics components.
2. Dominating talent share for optical engineers.
3. Dominating the market for manufacturing capacity.

None of these are characteristics of a Gorilla. The BTEs are all built around its dominance, not an open proprietary architecture, or IPR.

It is argued that JDSU has a strong value chain. I don't buy that. Its components are built on industry standards, and switching costs for the integrators (who are JDSU's custoemrs) are very low.

Hey! JDSU dominates my portfolio and I don't anticipate selling any of it unless its for portfolio balancing purposes for a long time. I like the company a lot, but my liking it or your loving it will not it a gorilla make.
