08:57 ET Edelstone on Semis : Morgan Stanley Dean Witter semiconductor analyst Mark Edelstone says C2Q00 earnings results showed widespread positive earnings surprises; communications segment strongest, but a seasonal uptick in PC demand should lead to accelerated growth for MPUs, DRAMs, graphics, and other PC-based components in H2; wireless demand is strong and investors have become too negative on DSPs, flash memory, RF components, and other wireless-centric ICs. Based on TXN's results and commentary, investor sentiment should improve immediately and significantly, favorite stocks are ALTR, ATML, CY, INTC, LSI, MCHP, MU, NSM, NVDA, TXN, STM, and XLNX.
