>>was it the drop and sudden climb?<< Essentially yes. I commented that I the action was making me nervous & I was thinking of getting out of ASPT. The price rose to a peak over a 10-day period, then gave up all of the gains over the next 3 weeks in spite of plenty of good news. Finally there was the sudden spike a week before the bad news. My comments were made on June 30, just before this rise. (If you're interested, you can read posts 7226 & 7227 on the Yahoo bd.)

I know absolutely nothing about technical analysis, but I have been burned a couple times before with this kind of pattern. It seems to be an indication that bad news has leaked & a big holder(s) is quietly taking profits so as not to spook the market. That is very similar the pattern shown by ASPT 2 years ago.

I would be interested in knowing if this is a pattern that the technical analysts recognize. The final spike after the slow erosion seems to be the final confirmation of the trend. I have no idea why this happens.
