They've already registered it as an upcoming IPO.

That really doesn't matter. Look at Global Crossing shopping GlobalCenter to Exodus as an example.

The question is why sell? The only company that it would make sense to sell it to would be someone like TI or another comm chip company. The rumors of Nokia buying QCT were pure speculation and wouldn't have made sense for either party, in my opinion.
