I spoke to an options trader last week who makes a market in PALM, he said the short position is so huge, many times the clearing firms at eod don't have the shares to lend these guys.

Most are delta-neutral spreaders, shorting stock to hedge their positions after selling calls etc... there could be some serious upside here.
