Thanks for the SGI article.

The newly announced cNUMA line sounds like it IS a MIPS based product - since the OS described was 64 bit IRIX and existing software will run on the new machines.

I wish these guys a lot of luck - they are trying to dig themselves out of a whole while supporting MIPS based systems as well as their newer x86 Xeon based systems - while also developing "future" IA64 machines, as you noted.

That is one big mouthful to chew - even for a healthy company.
