Luke, last week the mail man brought me my new HP S20 photo scanner. Its a marvel! Scans color/bw negative strips, mounted slides, and up to 5x7 prints at low to high resolution. For just over $400. Will be doing as you said, burning into CD for posterity.

I know that my photo albums have been viewed by at least 500 dancers from all over the world. There is no way that this would have happened without the combination of the internet with digital photos. I started out posting regular photos that I scanned in 3 years ago. It was too complicated.
I now store all the photos on line in the photo albums, and download from there if I need a copy.

BTW, it has made my penthouse internationally famous!
