By Sharon Singleton

Milan, July 26 (Bloomberg) -- Infostrada SpA, Italy's second- biggest traditional phone company, is planning a capital increase as part of its share sale later this year to raise as much as two trillion lire ($972 million) to finance investments, Il Sole/24 Ore reported, without citing sources. Overall, the initial public offer, which will also include a 49.9 percent stake being sold by Mannesmann AG, will raise between 15 trillion and 17 trillion lire, valuing Infostrada at about 30 trillion lire. Infostrada plans to favor small investors in the share sale, which will take place in the first half of October, Il Sole/24 Ore reported.

Vodafone AirTouch Plc, the world's largest mobile-phone company and the parent of Mannesmann, is selling traditional phone assets to finance expansion in mobile phone services.
