David fact is that the FED was or possible is worried about the high level of debt, they had a research paper published recently on that.

If public debt is no worry then why research it?? same apply to inflation.http://www.ny.frb.org/rmaghome/curr_iss/ci6-7.html

I think that since 1994 wen Robert Rubin enter the scene in full force he changed the way this administration handles the financial markets. It worked for a while and now it is a clear political tool.

Any scrutinity of earnings reports reveal financial engineering and if a company has a clean report the stock trades in 3 digits earnings multiple.

The issue of value evaporated from the conciousness of most people.
