GV, you have a good record. but on this issue i'll depart from this obvious conclusion

The decline in growth rate seems irrelevant when viewed in reference to continued growth.

You're assumption would be correct if Dell's growth moved into single digits or halted.

But, don't you think to award a similar company ((a) with the same revenue growth rate and (b) Enterprise sales moving in equal directions to its competitors (i.e., Dell)) with $55 billion more in market cap says more about institutions buying patterns than logic? They added another $15 billion in market cap today! That puts them at 50% greater than Dell.

Your next line - "slowing growth - where does it end"

To that one can (a) visit Dell's operations and look at their long range plans, (b) consider the worldwide shifting market demographics in both age and buying patterns, (c) consider the expansion of the internet, (d) consider the expansion of both wired and wireless broadband, (e) consider the integration of the PC and other current communication devices

Dell is well positioned to take advantage of this exploding universe. Either Dell's team are damn good practiced liars or they're preparing (prepared) for this new universe as they've indicated.

Many in the market have convinced themselves that Dell=Commodities, SUNW=Internet. But, show me ONE area in which SUNW can dominate in any of the five areas mentioned above without a pesky Dell getting their share of the business?
