That may turn out to be the case with the QCOM spin off, but both the COMS/PALM and HWP/A spin offs changed the symbols.

But that's a minor point which will not be resolved some 6 months after the IPO. KG4's question was about whether his 2003 LEAPS will retain his interest in both QCOM and the spin off, and unless there's some different wrinkle here, the answer to that Q will be "yes".

These spin offs can be major profit opportunities if the conditions and timing are right. Have to do some DD on the relative values of the "spinner" and "spinee". I've held a stake in QCOM for a while for only minor profits thus far, time it paid off.
