Don't you say that as processors get faster, they will need more bandwidth? By the time this chipset comes out, Willy may be at something like 1.7GHz. Wouldn't having 1/3 the memory bandwidth have at least some impact on performance?

I expect Willy to have about 2/3 the IPC of Athlon. That combined with large caches would cause 1.7GHz Willy to need the same DRAM bandwidth as 1GHz Athlon.

Do you expect any performance gain with the Athlon moving to DDR SDRAM?

Not much. Micron showed off some DDR benchmarks on Athlon, and they weren't much better than PC133.
