Cirrus,

I see no reason to expect a big bump from DDR. The T-Bird L2 did almost nothing for performance, and DDR will do much less.

Remember the AMD web site explanation about the irrelevance of the L2 data path width? That should give you some insight into the (lack of) need for more memory bandwidth.

My take on this is that the dirty work was done back in April:
My interpretation of the management moves at Intel is that the main supporter of Rambus at the company, has been demoted. #reply-13516797
