Sure doesn't look very good.

I'll be looking for a nice drop to buy into them.
There's a huge gap in the 60's.

This bad news will only last a short time.
Eventually there will be something to get everyone all revved up again.

This news came out earlier today. Why no reaction?

Hi Bone-uss,

sort of like WCDMA and the Q.

Will affect RMBS tomorrow and then go by the wayside like the rest of the FUD. They stated in their CC that this was a big possibility.

Following from YAHOO,

1. Nobody who has a clue is going to buy a Pentium 4 with SDRAM

2. Rambus will collect royalties on SDRAM

3. Intel's announcement said that they expected SDRAM to be around "until the end of 2001". Interpretation - RDRAM will dominate the market by the end of 2001

4. Samsung has made a commitment to bring RDRAM prices down to within 5% of SDRAM prices by the end of next year

All in all - this announcement is no big deal for Rambus. Now, for Intel, it means that they're devoting resources to a dead end product so I agree with a previous poster that it's just a ploy to keep Via off balance.

V

bonnuss I don't think RMBS is in quite the "gotcha" position that QCOM is....their tech is good but its only part of a PC...CDMA IS the operating system for wireless...yes I do own RMBS have been for a long time so I am used to seeing it go up and down large amounts...the story is far from over, but RMBS's destiny is not as clear ro me as QCOM's.
