What my Roadrunner service says about the future...

My Roadrunner service sent me notification addressing the future under the new ATT ownership of MediaOne. The text is in a FAQ format. The boldface is mine:

Does this mean that my Road Runner account will be closed at the time of the merger?

No. We will continue to offer Road Runner following the merger with AT&T. However, as a result of a recent U.S. Department of Justice ruling, we will be required to exit our partnership with Road Runner at the end of the existing agreement, which expires on 12/31/01.

Will my service change in any way?
As MediaOne, and later as an AT&T high-speed Internet customer, you can expect to receive a reliable, fast, "always on" connection to the Internet. At the time we exit our partnership with Road Runner, your existing service will continue under a new brand name with absolutely no interruption. You will also receive notification well in advance of the change.

I wonder what new brand name MediaOneRR will get. ChelloExciteRoadRunner?

Looking forward and not lamenting nor discounting the current situation. I like it.

That made me smile. Reminded me of the line from
